well, its a church rule but . . .
IT all depends on the dictates of ur mind, simpily y ur wearing it? God loves u the way u r!!
Well i wear it because i think it looks nice! I only wear it sometimes though.
well its true that seventh day adventists aren't supposed to wear nail polish or wear jewelry but not all adventists uphold this . by the way i admire you for not wearing other types of jewelry .well anyways thanks for bringing up the the topic of wearing jewelry its not a topic all adventist like to speak about
Well thank you!
I know, alot of adventists don't discuss the issue.
I do wish the Adventist church would give evidence that we should not wear jewelry, wear nail polish, etc. Because many don't know why they can not do certain things, they just know they should not.
I agree. Here's the most relevant verse in the Bible I can think of for this issue:

"Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight." 1 Peter 3:3-4

This article takes an in-depth look at this issue: Jewelry: How Much is Too Much?

I don't think that jewelry in itself is bad, but it's important to put beauty of character above beauty of outward appearance, and, like anything, jewelry can be overdone. Quite frankly, I think cosmetics can be just as much of a distraction as jewelry. It's all in how you're presenting yourself, what you're emphasizing, how you're representing Jesus to others.
Yea, but the issue isn't about just jewelry (or shouldn't be). I think it comes down to eye-candy, trying to draw attention to yourself, especially your appearance. But I don't think there's anything wrong with nail polish and also have not heard it condemned in Adventist belief. It's important to always remember the Biblical principles behind our practices, otherwise they indeed become meaningless traditions. The principle to remember when it comes to the jewelry issue is modesty.

Why aren't seventh day adventists not supposed to wear jewelry or nail polish? I don't see why it really matters

Now a days it is a norm. Accepted in church, the painting of the face. I see no reaso why Seventh Day Adventist should wear jewelry. If you do then it based on your own conviction. However, the Bible admonishes us that we should dress modest, that is not always the case..............
Many Adventists feel a need to dictate what everyone else must wear or do, but since there is no specific command against nail polish in the Bible, it's something you need to study for yourself and ask God if He would not want you to wear nail polish. The same is true with earrings. Ask God if it's His will for you to give them up. Don't just believe that it's wrong because people tell you it is. It's between you and God, and other people should not make you feel as if you can't be a Christian if you wear nail polish. There is no cookie-cutter rule about what to wear that applies to everyone in the world. The basic principle is modesty, and you'll have to let God guide you from there.

However, another thing to consider is if wearing earrings and nail polish is actually causing someone at your church to stumble by making them think, "Well, she wears jewelry, so I can wear 10 pounds of gold and diamonds, cover my face inch-deep in makeup, and spend go into debt buying the latest fashions if I want to!" (Okay, maybe not, but you get the point.) Romans 14 explains this with the example of what we eat. If someone is "weak in the faith" and it will hurt their Christian walk to see you, a Christian, wearing earrings or nail polish, it's best to at least leave it off around them.

I hope this helps. Don't get discouraged! If you follow Jesus you will know what's right. :)
Thank you so much, your answer made much sense. I will take this issue up to God. :)
