What is True Success?















Joshua 1:7-9

7Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest. 8This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. 9Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.



God has given us a blueprint to follow and that’s the bible, everything we do should be bible based and must be according to God’s blueprint. Our schools and education should follow God’s blueprint, our hospitals should follow God’s blueprint, the food we eat should follow God’s blueprint, the list goes on. (1 Corinthians 10:31 -Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.). God tells us in His word not to turn from the left or to the right of His law or “blueprint”. If we follow His blueprint He promises that we shall prosper and have good success. We should mediate on His word day and night. Morning and evening. We must observe to do them, according to ALL that is written. True success comes from following God’s commandments and statues, not in what kind of job you have, cars you drive, house you live in or how many degrees you have its in following God’s way, His blueprint. Jesus says “I am the way, the truth and the life” John 14:6. Jesus gave us the perfect example (1 Peter 2:20) in the life He lived, the way He was educated, the way He was raised, the way He helped others, the way He ministered to peoples needs, etc. He is our example and our blueprint. There is only way to to salvation and there is only one way in having success. Christ’s method alone well bring true success. And the life that we should live is not our own life but Christ in us. We must be crucified with Christ, we must no longer live. We must take up our crosses everyday and follow Christ.

Mark 8:35-38
Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 35For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it. 36For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? 37Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? 38Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

Philippians 2:5-11
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

I want to thank you for your post. I am working on a book right now and one of the chapters is on this very topic. I just wrote some very simuliar things to your perception of what true success is and how to acheive it and was wondering if anyone would really get what I'm trying to get across. True success indeed does not come with material things as the world may desctibe it to be. True succes comes from serving God with all your might and all your strength and living a life that is accroding to his will and according to his purpose. Following his law is not enough for not by works are we saved but by the life we live and the things we do. At the end of the day someone who has a doctrate and goes to hell compared to one who only has high school education and goes to heaven is not more successful. Whatever we accomplished here if not forwarded for God's cause is worthless. If we have the Doctrate then there can be some way to meet with God's purpose and this will grant one real success.
